My journey as an photographer was forged in the wide-open spaces of Alberta’s prairies, where I was born and where the land stretched endlessly beneath skies brushing the Rockies and the lush coulees broke the flatten landscape.. With no television to distract me, I spent my formative years absorbing the world more directly: exploring nature with my dad, meeting neighbors and travelers alike, and listening to stories about the ways in which their lives intertwined with the landscape. These early interactions, grounded in curiosity and storytelling, became the undercurrent that shaped what I choose to photograph.

My first foray into creative expression wasn’t with a paintbrush, as my beloved grandmother favored, but with the lens of a camera. A gift that has been transformative: photography became not just a tool, but my chosen language. This discovery was further nurtured by my dad. A natural storyteller who loved nothing more than exploring his surroundings and helping others. He used a camera to capture people and moments and would revisit them with stories that truly delighted the observer. His humanitarian spirit also deeply inspired me to be grateful for what I have and to always give back. My father’s passing has made my dedication to my photography a tribute to him, a mechanism for both storytelling and connection.

My creative process hinges on presence and curiosity. I like to approaches the world as a constellation of moments waiting to be captured: an interplay of context, gesture, and emotion.

I continually seek out images that both inspire and challenge me. My greatest reward in all of this is the generosity of people who have welcomed me into their homes and lives, sharing food, laughter, and stories—a privilege that informs and enriches the narratives. For me, every photographic journey, especially those in far-flung cultures (with Africa currently calling my name), is an opportunity for gratitude

I take at least one photograph every day and my sincere desire is that my images celebrate humanity, cultures and connect our stories one captured moment at a time.
